“Aum Trayambakam Yajaamahe sugandhim pushtivardhanam urvarukamiva bandhanaat
mrityormukshiya maamritaat”
‘We worship the three-eyed One (Lord Shiva) who is fragrant and who nourishes all beings. May he liberate me from death, for the sake of Immortality. Even as the cucumber is severed from its bondage of the creeper’.
Through this mantra, we seek blessings from Lord Shiva to save us from all the problems or obstacles. It also protects us from untimely death.

The other name of Maha mrityunjaya mantra is the Tryambaka Mantra, Sanjeevani Mantra and Rudra Mantra. According to many, chanting the mantra releases a string of vibrations that keeps us physically strong and removes fear, anxiety,and ensures good health.
In fact, Maha mrityunjaya Mantra is a verse from the Rig Veda followed by Yajur Veda and Atharva Veda. According to mythology, Lord Shiva had delivered it to sage Shukracharya. It bestows longevity, protects from obstacles and saves us from untimely death. It also removes fears and heals holistically.
